Power Boat Training
The AS Start Powerboating course is designed specifically for those wishing to gain their NSW General Boat License and runs from 0900 – 1600 over 1 day. After this course and satisfactory demonstration of skills and knowledge, you can take this certificate to a Service NSW centre along with the license fee and identification to gain your NSW General Boat License.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is internationally recognised and meets a higher standard than the Australian Sailing course. The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course runs from 0900 – 1600 over a full weekend and allows you to gain both your NSW General Boat License and the International Certificate of Competence for motor vessels up to 10m.
So that we can maximize your time steering the boat we offer small classes, the ratio for the 1 day course is 4 trainees to 1 instructor. Also there is no time wasted doing exams, our instructors are qualified to be able to assess and pass you without a written exam.
These courses take you through the basic skills and is a great starting block from which to launch yourself into this exciting and exhilarating boating lifestyle. Our training vessels include:
· 5.8m RIB Inflatable centre console boat with 60HP outboard motor
· An Arvor Weekender 23, 6.9m with 150hp inboard engine and bow thruster
· A Haines Hunter 4.45m runabout with 50hp 4 stroke outboard
